The AREVA Reactors & Services Business Group:
The Reactors and Services Business Group combines the nuclear reactor design and construction activities and the products and services activities necessary for the maintenance, operation, modernization, and improvement of power plants. It also includes vessel propulsion nuclear reactor and research reactor activities. AREVA is currently constructing four EPR™ reactors, of generation III .

Job Description:
AREVA is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer for the New England region (covering CT, MA, VT, NH). The Field Service Engineer supports department and company objectives for premier customer service through the provision of hands on equipment troubleshooting and repair in the field, as well as training for the end user, and technical personnel, on Canberra's various product lines. The provision of training will include the basics of operation and routine maintenance for the end user; and expand for technical personnel to include theory of operation, design and disassembly, as well as handling common and complex diagnoses and troubleshoot of the various Canberra products. Training will typically require presentations, product demonstrations, and hands-on instruction, covering the US and global locations.
Additional responsibilities and duties include:
  • Maintain good customer relations and customer satisfaction by serving as the company liaison on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects. Complete and maintain detailed records of all technical problems using the company's database.
  • Supporting the product improvement lifecycle with objective evidence of product performance in the field.
  • Creating, maintaining and updating technical literature on the platform.
  • Customer support in the installation, modification, training, consulting and repair of complex computer based nuclear research instrumentation.
  • Provide engineering and consulting support for nuclear power plants, laboratories, educational and homeland security customers.
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
  • B.S. or equivalent in Electronics and or Nuclear Engineering
  • Well disciplined, self-starter with an enthusiastic entrepreneurial spirit.
  • 4 years' experience in the Nuclear Electronics field
  • 4 years' experience in computer technology
  • 4 years' experience supporting electronic and nuclear related field
  • 4 years' experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel ..)
  • Good working knowledge of nuclear physics and electronics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to relate well and work closely with highly skilled customers.
  • Ability to analyze system malfunctions and takes corrective action.
  • Ability to work in a solo environment, take necessary actions to resolve complex problems.
  • Properly represent the company in dealings with customers and be responsible for customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide timely reports.
  • Ability to type at least 40 wpm.
  • Provide leadership and train lower level employees.
The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.
  • Nuclear physics and radiation principles knowledge & experience
  • Local area network setup troubleshooting and operation
  • Microsoft Windows and Office product software installation and operations
  • Computer hardware setup, troubleshooting and repair experience
  • Programmable controller logic & Motor controller operations
  • Large system troubleshooting and resolution to a modular and/or component level.
  • Database operation and maintenance (Excel, SAP, SQL …)
  • Ability to train and mentor junior engineers and customers.
  • Create and update Technical Bulletins, Technical Manuals, logs and services performed.
Position Demands:
  • Physical ability to see, hear, talk, walk, stand for long periods of time, use tools, keyboards and controls, ability to lift and move 100 pounds.
  • Ability to travel by automobile and/or airplane. Expected travel will be 50% out of your immediate home area.
  • Successfully pass personal history investigation, including DMV, FBI , and financial investigation.

Routine (50%) domestic travel for on-site customer support.
