Position Summary The purpose of this position is to provide day-to-day supervision of the Technical Procurement group including budget, direction on organizational objectives, attainment of department and personal goals, and continuous improvement initiatives for Nuclear Procurement. The primary responsibility of the Supervisor is to achieve optimal performance in providing parts, materials, and services that meet Station technical, quality assurance, and regulatory requirements. Primary Responsibilities 1. Overall supervisory responsibility to ensure spare parts, equipment and services procured and maintained to engineering, regulatory and design requirements. This includes Quality classification and assignment of technical and quality assurance requirements for procurement of parts, materials and services. 2. The Supervisor establishes goals, objectives, and priorities for the group in concert with Department and Station schedules, budgets, goals, objectives and resources. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for guidance, motivation, and feedback to the group relative to performance, priorities, and expenditures. 3. Supports and promotes the Corrective Action Program (CAP) through the identification and resolution of issues in a timely and effective manner. 4. Responsible for Direct Acquisition evaluations of parts and materials procured from other Nuclear plants. 5. Responsible for the identification and recommended solutions for parts obsolescence issues. 6. Coordinates and prioritizes timely resolution of part and material exceptions and non-conformances with Suppliers. 7. Evaluates and recommends changes and improvements in methods or processes in assigned area of responsibility. 8. Review, revise, and communicate department/group procedures in support of administrative, technical, or Industry initiatives. 9. The incumbent is responsible for providing Procurement support functions for Forced Outage Response Team (FORT) and other Station evolutions requiring Procurement support. 10. In the absence of the Manager-Nuclear Procurement, the incumbent may perform the duties of the Manager-Nuclear Procurement. Candidate Qualifications Candidates must meet the basic qualifications to receive consideration. Basic Qualifications 1. Minimum of 8 years nuclear plant experience. 2. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Physical Science or Business. 3. This position requires a technical background with a general knowledge of plant equipment and system design to include nuclear codes and standards. Preferred Qualifications 1. Knowledge of PPL procedures, programs, and policies. 2. Working knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements. 3. High degree of interpersonal, communication, and technical skills. 4. Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) and provide direction to technical personnel. 5. Demonstrated problem solving skills. 6. Demonstrated knowledge of material coordination, work management, and procurement processes.
