(1) assistance to business line accounting managers and corporate accounting management through leadership and management of special projects such as, the development and implementation of new accounting systems and system upgrades
(2) assistance to the Controller's department in improving the effectiveness and efficiency of accounting processes and
(3) technical and practical accounting guidance to business line accounting managers and/or corporate accounting management in connection with unusual, non-recurring or complex business transactions. Primary Responsibilities 1. Develop and lead a controllership special projects function. Maintain frequent, ongoing dialog with business line accounting managers and the various accounting departments to identify special projects, i.e., opportunities for automation or other process improvements that would assist the controllership department by improving process efficiency, accuracy of output, or strengthening internal controls.

2. Select, lead and manage project-specific teams that will provide accounting expertise/support to business line accounting managers and/or corporate accounting management during the development and implementation of new accounting systems and upgrades to existing systems. Lead and manage systems development efforts for the Supply department acting as liaison between accounting groups (users) and Financial Process Support/ISD to define project scope, resources required, cost estimates and timing. Lead project and provide support to the project sponsor and end users, as required, during the development and implementation phases of the project. Services to be provided by the project team may
include performance of user testing and notification to ISD of project acceptance.

3. Provide business line and corporate controllership management with technical and practical accounting guidance in connection with unusual, non-recurring or complex business transactions. Lead and manage project team to provide guidance, including development of Excel model(s) to facilitate accounting for new complex transactions that are recurring in nature and training of the responsible accounting group in the use of the model.

4. Participate on teams sponsored by the Financial Department providing insight into the accounting treatment in connection with proposed strategic initiatives and, if decision is made to implement the initiative, provide guidance to the responsible accounting group with respect to the ongoing accounting requirements and process.

5. Perform, either individually of through a project team, advanced or specialized work on specific projects requiring a comprehensive understanding of complex accounting principles and financial concepts.

6. Provide oversight to benchmarking the cost and performance of the Controller's department, as well as the design and implementation of improvement initiatives in this regard. Candidate Qualifications Candidates must meet the basic qualifications to receive consideration. Basic Qualifications 1. Bachelors degree. Preferred Qualifications 1. Bachelors degree in accounting.

2. MBA

3. CPA or CMA preferred

4. Strong managerial and leadership skills - ability to organize and lead teams and to build strong working relationships with all levels of management. Demonstrated commitment to provide high quality service to all customers and to continuous improvement. Highly dependable with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, along with, strong conceptual and analytical/problem solving skills and ability to interact with various levels of management and across functions; proficiency in financial accounting concepts, US GAAP/SEC reporting and internal controls; and ability to apply US GAAP principles to complex business transactions.

6. Strong computer (modelling) skills as well as proficiency with basic Microsoft software is required. Experience with Microsoft Project and PeopleSoft accounting and reporting systems is desirable.
