Position Summary A Specific Professional is an individual hired on a temporary basis typically for a specific project. Normally, assignments will be for a period of not more than two years. Coordinates and assists in developing, implementing and administering a sustainable corporate business continuity program. The major focus is to assure compliance and adequacy of business continuity plans for all PPL business lines’ and service groups’ critical business functions and applications to maintain continued business operations, asset protection and loss mitigation in the event of a major disaster or disruption. Primary Responsibilities 1. Develop, implement and administer the corporate business continuity program (BCP). 2. Plan and coordinate BCP training and periodic disaster recovery exercises and drills for business resumption procedures throughout the Company. 3. Function as a liaison with business line and service groups’ BCP owners and contacts to provide coordination of effort and resources with the overall BCP. 4. Assist organizational units in determining critical business processes by evaluating and analyzing acceptable recovery time periods and resources needed for successful resumption of business operations. 5. Coordinate development and maintenance of business continuity, location response, and crisis management (emergency) plans with an emphasis on components that are most critical to business operations and assisting in identifying resources required to adequately respond to a disaster. 6. Analyze, evaluate and report on current and pending laws, regulations and requirements affecting business continuity; and provide guidance on industry best practices as applied to the corporate BCP. 7. Evaluate and conduct gap analysis of overall BCP planning and program administration, identifying risks and potential improvements. 8. Administer the corporate Emergency Notification System (ENS) service and serve as primary contact with ENS provider. 9. Report to the Manager-Corporate Security and the Executive Director-HR&S Planning on the status and progress of the corporate BCP. 10. Work effectively in a team environment, both as a leader and team member. 11. Serve on the corporate business continuity working team. 12. Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager-Corporate Security. Candidate Qualifications Candidates must meet the basic qualifications to receive consideration. Basic Qualifications 1. Bachelor’s Degree 2. 2 years emergency planning, business continuity, disaster response and recovery strategies experience. 3. Must be able to interface and coordinate work effectively with business partners. 4. Experience using MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. 5. Excellent project management skills. 6. Requires effective written, verbal, facilitation and interpersonal communication skills. 7. Must maintain a valid driver’s license. Preferred Qualifications 1. Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management or a related field 2. Professional Certification in Emergency Planning, Business Continuity, or a related field 3. 4 years emergency planning, business continuity, disaster response and recovery strategies experience. 4. Proficient PC skills; experience with presentation and information sharing software (e.g. PowerPoint / SharePoint). 5. Strong planning and organizational skills with effectiveness in developing objectives and managing resources to achieve targets. 6. Understanding of business drivers, business priorities, and business processes. Basic Qualifications 1.
