Position Summary Maintain and update PPL Interstate Energy Company’s pipeline Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system; IEC’s WAN; and network data servers, PC’s, printers and related IT hardware to insure secure and uninterrupted operations. Design, develop, document, coordinate and implement changes to the SCADA system to support pipeline operational changes and engineering projects. Supervise one direct report, SCADA Technician. Primary Responsibilities 1. Install, configure and support SCADA applications so as to provide the required level of functionality for Company operations.

2. Maintain applications that support or are supported by the SCADA system. These may include applications for pipeline products management, simulation training, control room management, leak monitoring, database management, etc.

3. Maintain a working knowledge of industry regulations and updates as well as technical proficiency to proactively support the needs of Operations.

4. Provide ad hoc reporting of SCADA data.

5. Communicate effectively with the Supervisor Controllers to assure that the service delivered meets the needs of operations.

6. Supervise activities of SCADA Technician.

7. Select, configure and maintain remote telemetry units.

8. Update, maintain and troubleshoot Windows OS and network communications failures and direct the solutions.

9. Provide IT support for PPLIEC’s network server, desktops/laptops, printers, switches and other related hardware.

10. Work with SCADA vendor to resolve issues requiring external support.

11. Review, design and implement SCADA graphics changes as requested.

12. Support the Pipeline Training Simulator and link to SCADA.

13. Direct and maintain the testing and auditing requirements for Alarm Management Program.

14. Schedule and monitor annual security audits on the SCADA and company WAN. Candidate Qualifications Candidates must meet the basic qualifications to receive consideration. Basic Qualifications 1. B.S. Degree in Computer Science or similarly related field.
2. Proficiency in MS Windows server and desktop operating systems.
3. Proficiency in MS SQL, Visual Basic and Visual Basic.net, database structure and stored procedures.
4. Minimum of 5 years working experience working with SCADA control systems and IT support preferred.
5. Valid PA drivers license or the ability to obtain such timely.
6. Comfort in working in a team environment. Preferred Qualifications 1. Experience with OASyS DNA.
2. Experience with SCADA protocols including Modbus.
