Position Summary The primary purpose of this position is to manage the leadership development programs for PPL Susquehanna, LLC. This includes maintaining Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) accreditation for the Nuclear Maintenance Supervisor program and the leadership training portion of the Nuclear Operations Shift Manager program. This position manages leadership initial and continuing training for PPL Susquehanna, LLC non-maintenance supervisors and all PPL Susquehanna, LLC managers. This position also maintains college credits for selected nuclear training courses through an accredited university process. Primary Responsibilities 1. Develop and maintain the long-range plan for leadership development in support of Succession Management for PPL Susquehanna, LLC, and the organization’s short and long term business strategy.
2. Manage and implement the accredited supervisor training programs and the non-accredited supervisor and manager training programs.
3. Schedule initial and continuing leadership training for all PPL Susquehanna, LLC supervisors and managers, including those for the accredited supervisor training programs, to support leadership development as identified by the Leadership Development Curriculum Committee chaired by the Vice President – Nuclear Operations.
4. Schedule and coordinate the PPL Susquehanna, LLC Leadership Development Curriculum Committee activities in support of the organization’s leadership development strategy and the Vice President – Nuclear Operations.
5. Proactively collaborate with PPL Services Human Resources training department to maximize the leadership development initiatives at PPL Susquehanna, LLC and for PPL Corporation.
6. Partner with Human Resources personnel at PPL Susquehanna, LLC to insure that the leadership development program integrates the PPL Corporation and PPL Susquehanna, LLC policies, procedures and programs into the PPL Susquehanna, LLC leadership team initiatives and practices.
7. Achieve Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) instructor certification and additional certifications (e.g.: Development Dimensions International (DDI), Employment Learning Innovations (ELI), Myers-Briggs, Human Synergistics) to teach selected courses in the Leadership Development curriculum.
8. Perform evaluations, such as instructor evaluations and course content evaluations, of courses taught by Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and vendors.
9. Coach and advise leaders in their personal self-assessment and development activities.
10. Integrate the short and long term strategic leadership goals of the senior management team to improve PPL Susquehanna, LLC’s performance for achieving the vision “to be the Best Nuclear Generator in the United States.”
11. Develop the assessment, selection and development process for all members of the PPL Susquehanna, LLC leadership team.
12. Champion the change management process at PPL Susquehanna, LLC and be the internal consultant to the leadership team for implementing organizational change. Candidate Qualifications Candidates must meet the basic qualifications to receive consideration. Basic Qualifications 1. Four Year college degree required - BS Degree in Education, Management, or graduate courses or experience in management or education.
2. Working knowledge of the training requirements of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO).
3. Detailed knowledge of the Systematic Approach to Training.
4. Extensive experience in Human Resources or leadership development. Completion of formal leadership training and development program that includes completion of leadership assessment instruments.
5. The incumbent should have at least five years responsible training or human resources experience in leadership selection and/or development.
6. The incumbent must demonstrate competency as a training professional, and have the ability to partner effectively with educational organizations. Preferred Qualifications 1. MBA in Education preferred.
