Position Summary Under direct supervision, assists in the development of reports, analyses, and models based on complex operational, economic, pricing, forecasting, market, and accounting data to solve new and complex problems, develop innovative strategies and recommendations, quantify competitive performance of the organization’s operations and/or markets, and evaluate the potential impact of changes. Responsible for data entry, manipulation, and reporting across several functions. Depends on others for instruction, guidance and direction. Primary Responsibilities 1. Provides analytical support in discipline, as directed, and begins to develop ongoing interface with the marketing and trading groups and other groups in the company as required. 2. Assists in the development and analysis of energy transactions pertaining to commercial opportunities and the risk positions related to commercial opportunities and the portfolio. 3. Assists in the creation and analysis of reports, models and forecasts as required by the business. 4. Assists in preparing, presenting and reporting on findings, observations and recommendations. 5. Develops competence in own area by performing routine or structured work. Candidate Qualifications Candidates must meet the basic qualifications to receive consideration. Basic Qualifications 1. Bachelor’s Degree. 2. Less than one year experience in the energy industry with a focus on analytical skills for retail or wholesale commercial transactions, asset management, portfolio management and/or transmission systems. 3. Proficient in Excel and VBA and other MS Office Products. Preferred Qualifications 1. Familiarity with databases. Ability to work with large amounts of data. Proficient in Access, SQL, and other database applications. 2. Understanding of energy commodity markets and Independent System Operator organizations. 3. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. 4. Ability to function efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment. 5. Good business judgment.
