Position Summary Manages the curricula development activities involving the implementation of all training modules and procedural requirements for the analysis, design, development implementation, evaluation and revision of the operator, technical, maintenance and general nuclear training programs. Oversees the Training Department’s assessment and corrective action programs. Manages the development of the Accreditation Self-evaluation reports. Manages the curricula development activities involving the implementation of the SAT Model and procedural requirements for the analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation and revision of the operator, technical, maintenance and general nuclear training programs. Analyzes training problems, develops and recommends solutions relative to NRC, INPO, and the training department requirements to include the following areas: Accreditation, Training System Development, Training Program Effectiveness, and Training Staff Development. Primary Responsibilities 1. Accountable for the maintenance of accreditation activities and the development of the Self Evaluation Report (ASER). 2. Provide support and oversight of assessments of training processes and programs. 3. Oversees the site corrective action process for the Training Department (CAPCO/PIC). 4. Oversees the analysis of site performance data (e.g., events, scorecards, INPO assist visits) to develop and implement site improvement initiatives. 5. Oversees the review of station assessment results to determine trends and areas where training can be used for improvement. 6. Ensure training participates in NRC, INPO and management audits/assessments and provide response to audit findings. 7. Ensure support of station and activities in the areas of business initiatives, project management, refuel outage support, EP duties, and special projects. 8. Ensure participation in and provide self-assessment oversight of accredited programs at the station to ensure consistent program execution. 9. Coordinates the assignment of training activities between plant management, outside agencies, contractors, and the training department. 10. Provides functional supervision to clerical support staff related to training administrative systems. 11. Establish department goals, training strategies, and cost estimates that result in budgeted activities for the assigned area. 12. Support station and activities in the areas of business initiatives, project management, refuel outage support, EP duties, and special projects. 13. Ensure that station management is educated on industry recognized performance improvement and human error reduction techniques using industry best practices. 14. Ensure active training participation in the review of HUP related root cause investigations. Candidate Qualifications Candidates must meet the basic qualifications to receive consideration. Basic Qualifications 1. BS/BA Degree and/or minimum of 10 years experience in one or more of the following Disciplines: - Training - Operations - Maintenance 2. 5 years of supervisory experience. 3. Knowledge of a commercial nuclear power plant (BWR). 4. Experience in leadership/development training. Preferred Qualifications 1. Ability to identify and analyze training needs, and evaluate training effectiveness. 2. Ability to analyze, interpret, and implement NRC, INPO, and industry standards organizations (ASME, ANSO, ANI, IEEE, etc.) regulations into nuclear training programs. 3. Ability to respond to emergent training needs in a regulated environment. 4. Ability to evaluate industry incidents and events to determine the need to incorporate into training. 5. Appropriate knowledge of plant operations, maintenance, and engineering practices and techniques. 6. Knowledge of computer hardware/software system concepts, operations and procedures. 7. Ability to prepare and conduct effective training presentations in various instructional settings, as appropriate.
