Position Summary Responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies to achieve sales targets and business objectives, and to drive the Commercial and Industrial (C&I) retail energy business and through the channel partner sales team. Manages and provides strategic direction to a team of sales professionals charged with understanding customer needs, selling products and services, building and maintaining relationships and gathering market intelligence. Maintains accountability for the direct sales team, channel partner sales team and sales support team, as well as sales activities and sales goals in multiple regions. Works collaboratively with Retail team leads to develop products, processes, and marketing initiatives to meet customer needs and grow the business. Primary Responsibilities 1. Identifies and manages sales strategies that are aligned with business objectives and drive profitability from the C&I retail sector. 2. Develops sales forecasts and set performance targets. 3. Maintains responsibility for Profit & Loss of C&I sales. 4. Works collaboratively with the Retail team leads to ensure direct reports have the tools and resources necessary to succeed. 5. Recruits, hires, trains and develops direct and channel partner sales team and sales support team. 6. Evaluates and manages sales team performance. Analyzes sales statistics to assist in the development of sales strategies. 7. Collaborates with cross functional teams throughout the energy marketing organization to execute sales strategies, manage business risk, ensure adherence to sales process and to achieve business objectives. 8. Develops and maintains business relationships with customers while identifying strategies to meet customer requirements. 9. Maintains responsibility goal achievement of his/her direct reports. 10. Ensures all leads are properly assigned and follow-up is conducted in a timely and effective manner. 11. Ensures key metrics are being tracked and reported to management. Provides updates to management on current issues and developments. Recommends changes in strategies as necessary to achieve sales targets. Candidate Qualifications Candidates must meet the basic qualifications to receive consideration. Basic Qualifications 1. Seven or more years of sales, marketing and/or retail energy experience. 2. Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or related area. 3. Three or more years proven experience managing the performance of a work group with the ability to coach and mentor team members. 4. Superior knowledge of retail energy products and services. 5. Track record of consistently attaining sales goals. 6. Experience selling to/negotiating with C-level energy decision makers. Preferred Qualifications 1. MBA. 2. Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills. 3. Strong negotiation skills.
