Job Description
Xcel Energy's Amarillo, Texas location is currently hiring Credit & Collections Associates for an upcoming 5 week training class starting on March 5th, 2012.
Summary

Working in a call center environment , the Credit & Collections Associate's primary responsibility is to provide quality response to Xcel Energy customer inquiries on credit and collections matters in a respectful and efficient manner by anticipating the customer's needs, and satisfactorily resolving issues with one contact. This includes entering into payment arrangements with delinquent customers, explaining company credit and collection practices plus tracking high risk accounts and taking appropriate action. This is a non-benefitted entry level position with starting pay of $10.05 per hour.

  • Resolve customer inquiries concerning all credit and collections issues.
  • Responds in a timely manner to all customer inquiries with emphasis on credit and collection.
  • Perform consistently to meet established organizations objectives and goals.
  • Demonstrate personal accountability in areas of dependability and time management.
  • Handle customer inquiries in an environment that requires a high tolerance for stress.
  • Respond to irate customers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Work on special projects as needed.
  • Regular, reliable attendance is an essential job function.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year experience in a customer service environment
  • Demonstrated job stability
  • Demonstrated good verbal and written skills required
  • Must be customer focused and results oriented.
  • Knowledge of computer based-systems, Internet and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) required

Preferred

  • Some credit & collections experience is beneficial.
  • Additional education in business or related field desired.
