As a Sr. Principal Risk Management Analyst, your work will support the goals and regulatory requirements of the Integrity Management Programs Department. Your data analysis, risk modeling and optimization skills will contribute to business performance. Summary - Under broad direction, works on complex projects where analysis of transmission pipeline assessment data requires further inquiry and analysis to make recommendations, such as: project schedules, reassessment intervals, assessment methods and preventive and mitigative measures.
- Utilizes computer risk models to quantify and optimize the risk associated with the gas transmission and distributionsystems based on probabilistic, financial and engineering analysis.
- Optimizing risk includes, but is not limited to, determining impacts to system reliability, operational performance, environment, jurisdictional and business financial performance, system safety, legal and regulatory compliance, and brand impact.
- Provides technical direction to less experienced team members.
Essential Responsibilities
Uses models and metrics, as part of daily responsibilities, to quantify the risk associated with gas transmission and distribution system operational and reinvestment options, based on probability statistical and engineering principles. Evaluates strategic options for managing assets. Continually defines and coordinates existing and future data requirements for the analysis necessary to optimize gas pipeline system risk. Communicates risk management processes, results and recommendations to management and employees to support the requirements of the Integrity Management Programs. Perform Post Project Effectiveness evaluations and incorporates results into continuous improvement processes. Designs and performs quantitative studies of historical and forecasted spends and develops methodologies for incorporating risk metrics to support capital and O&M funding levels as part of the annual budget process. Compiles data and information to complete and file federal and state required reports

Required - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Finance (6 years related experience may substitute for the degree)
- 7 years of risk modeling work experience or related field
- Engineering/Utility Industry-Knowledge of utility business operations maintenance, engineering and systems
- Knowledge of gas transmission and distribution pipeline engineering, operations and maintenance
- Quantitative/Statistical Modeling-Ability to develop and analyze predictive models, forecasting, and simulation
- Advanced knowledge of statistics and risk modeling
- Advanced ability to collect, extract, manipulate, and assimilate complex data files
- Demonstrated analytical and financial analysis capabilities
Computer Systems/Geographic Information Systems (GIS)/Information Technology-Advanced ability to use database programs and analytical tools Knowledge of federal and state codes and regulations, including, but not limited to: Pipeline Hazardous Materials and Safety Administration (PHMSA) - (CFR 191, 192), Department of Transportation (DOT), OSHA, Colorado Public Utilities Commission (CPUC).
Preferred - Advanced degree in a related field
