Job Description
THIS IS A PROJECT POSITION -

3 to 5 years in duration (defined employment start and termination dates) which carries certain Benefit Limitations, i.e., no separation benefits. Director level approval and waiver required to bid on other PSEG opportunities and not eligible to bid on any new opportunities until the last 12 months of the defined employment assignment.

This is a first level supervisory position in the Delivery Projects and Construction Organization (Vegetation Management). Coordinate contractor activities/oversight efforts, establish and deploy required training, review performance through the completion of contractor quality assessments and site inspections to ensure the work is being completed in compliance with required procedures and established regulatory requirements. Achieve the desired results of the Delivery Project and Construction Organization (Vegetation Management) through the use of PSEG values and tools, sound management practices and skills and a total commitment to teamwork. Assist existing divisions in the emergency response for major events. Oversee the activities of all Vegetation Management associates (PSE&G and contractor) to ensure safe and efficient activities of outside plant facilities. Assist in the training and development of personnel. Promote safety principles. Counsel associates, as required, and handle First Step Grievance meetings. Assign and direct work to accomplish the desired results in a safe, efficient and expeditious manner. Accept call out assignments. Must be willing to respond outside of normal hours. Ability to layout/supervise the work of others. Extensive knowledge of applicable portions of Company/Union agreement will be applied. Must utilize ability to recognize unusual conditions and take corrective action.
Plans, directs, organizes, and negotiates necessary federal, state, regional and local permits, licenses, and approvals for electric transmission and distribution vegetation management projects.
Provides planning, oversight and direction as Team Leader of all applicable licensing/permitting disciplines including air, land, water, real estate, and the contractors utilized to insure the regulatory compliance for vegetation management.
Required: BA/BS Applied Science. On track to obtain ISA Certified Arborist. Demonstrated technical / professional knowledge and experience. 10+ years of State and Federal regulatory / licensing experience. In depth knowledge of all environmental, zoning, planning and construction codes and regulations affecting new and modified construction; engineering, environmental, utility finance and public relations policies specific to New Jersey.
Capability and successful experience in building external coalitions and collaborative working relationships with local, state and federal regulators to support project objectives. Five years of operational experience.

Wetlands: Laws and Regulations
Wetlands Delineation
Planning Law
Planning Theory
ISA Certified Arborist - recommended or ability to acquire within 12 months
