The AREVA Front End Business Group:
The Front End Business Group combines activities associated with the conversion and enrichment of uranium and with the design and fuel production for nuclear reactors. The production capacities of the Group, one of the world's leaders in the sector, are undergoing modernization.
US Fuels BU - Contracts:
The US Fuels BU - Contracts group manages all customers' contracts associated with reactor fuel and fuel-related core components & fuel engineering analyses. The Contracts group works with all stakeholders, including but not limited to the customer/utility, Fuel & E&P engineering, manufacturing, Fuels & Plants outage services plus domestic & foreign interfaces.
Job Description:
AREVA is seeking an Associate Project Manager/Project Manager - Japanese Market. The Project Manager typically is assigned one or more specific customers for whom he/she will manage their projects. The Project Manager reports to a Contract Manager, who acts as the commercial interface with the customer on contractual matters. Project support for the Project Managers is provided by a staff of Project Control Specialists and Schedulers.
Responsibilities and duties include:
- Prepares project plans/schedules/materials to achieve project quality, reliability, cost and timing objectives.
- Utilizes approved project management methods and processes to execute low risk projects of existing technology and methods to meet client needs and expectations.
- Provides primary interface between project team, management and client.
- Develops assignments, timetables and responsibilities for team members for the duration of the project.

- Coordinates multiple project activities including organizing and directing personnel, materials and equipment; utilizes team building skills to ensure satisfactory project performance.

- Defines and forecasts needed skills to meet project objectives.
- Manages the timely issuance and payment of customer invoices.
Primary assignment is expected to be on the MNF Dry Conversion Facility with support to other MNF engineering projects also. Specific assignments to be determined depending on experience and qualifications of applicant selected.
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
  • Associate Project Manager: BS Degree in Business, Engineering or similar field, or related experience in lieu of degree, plus 8-10 years of project work experience.
  • Project Manger: BS Degree in Business, Engineering or similar field, or related experience in lieu of degree, plus 10-12 years of project work experience.
  • Incumbents should be working on or have achieved, and continue to maintain AREVA PM certification.
The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.
  • Strong business and/or technical expertise in a related technical capacity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively with all levels of staff & management.
  • Excellent working knowledge of PC-based applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).
  • Strong problem identification and resolution skills with emphasis on "root cause" analysis.
TRAVEL
Sporadic (10%) international travel. Customer visits are expected 2-3 times per year with each visit being 1-5 days.
