The AREVA Inc. Performance Improvement (PI) department:

The AREVA Inc. Performance Improvement (PI) department in the Quality & Performance organization is responsible for the deployment of Lean Six Sigma tools and methodology throughout North America. The organization is staffed with full time employee Black Belts (BBs) and Master Black Belts (MBBs) responsible for training, mentoring belts, reporting, and overall support and integrity of the deployment.

Job Description:

AREVA is seeking a LSS Rotational Black Belt. The BB will execute LSS projects and will also mentor others (including line management) in the application of results oriented LSS tools, methods, and techniques. The primary objective for the BBs is to develop and implement sustainable improvements within BG/BU operations and overall performance. Black Belts are dedicated, full time positions that are free of other assignments. The Q&P PI Black Belts provide the necessary infrastructure support for the full deployment.

Key Activities:

  • Leads one or more and mentors several other local Lean Six Sigma projects, Facilitates Continuous Improvement and Lean Six Sigma activities within their area. Provides training and other process support necessary to achieve full deployment objectives.
  • Communicates regularly with Lean Six Sigma project leaders and observes project team performance and dynamics.
  • Mentors local Green Belt and Black Belts in training.
  • Provides coaching to local Sponsors, Process Owners, and Executives.
  • Provides counsel on the development and selection of Lean Six Sigma projects.
  • Helps ensure projects and resource requirements are met.
  • Ensures financial impacts are derived from the established Financial Guidelines and properly entered into the corporate project database.
  • Ensures a post implementation verification audit is performed by process owners.
  • Ensures Sponsors acknowledge their accountabilities for posted information when a project is moved into a "completed" status.
  • Provides status updates regarding local Lean Six Sigma activities.
  • Desire to advance within management.


All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.

  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • Solid analytical and project management skills.




  • Personable, confident, positive and credible.

  • Manages conflict well and has the respect of coworkers.




  • Leadership and communication skills as well as professional credibility.




  • Sharing information, presenting status updates, organizing meetings and mentoring others are fundamental to the role.




The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.

  • Prior Lean Six Sigma Training and Black Belt certification.

  • Prior military project related experience

  • Leadership experience



TRAVEL




Sporadic (10%) domestic travel.
