Job Description
Viewed as an expert in applications development. Undertakes complex projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge. Makes well-thought-out decisions on complex or ambiguous application development issues. Coordinates with users to determine requirements. Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency. Creates complex prototypes. Codes, tests, debugs, documents and implements complex software applications. Establishes and communicates common goal and direction for team. Acts as a source of direction, training and guidance for less experienced staff. Resolves complex issues at the highest technical level regarding operations in a 24 X 7 hour shop, including installations, setups, error messages, on-line transactions, system status and downtime procedures, etc. Ensures user satisfaction by providing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and quickly resolving more complex problems. Requires specific commodity trading knowledge in the areas of risk management and market facing systems. Experience required in PL/SQL, C, C , VB and Java. Knowledge of one or more of the following is required: Oracle Forms, Oracle Discoverer, Oracle Reports and/or Cognos. Experience preferred in the Windows Operating System and UNIX. Requires a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline, and 6 to 10 years experience.
