Prairie Island is looking for an Maintenance Rule Supervisor - Engineering.
This position is responsible for supervising engineering personnel within the Equipment Reliability group, who are responsible for performing engineering activities to support the Prairie Island station. Supervision includes work management, technical mentoring, technical review of work products, oversight of engineering program development, implementation, and health monitoring, pre-job briefs for work assignments, performance plan development and review, and coaching associated with engineer performance.
Provide technical and personnel leadership and coaching to the engineering staff. This includes mentoring of new personnel and existing personnel to new technologies. Establishing and enforcing quality expectations for engineering products such as calculations, operablity reviews, safety reviews, work planning, design activities, specification development, and corrective action program related activities.
Develop schedules, utilize work management tools, make assignments for engineering related activities to support site and fleet goals.
Represent the engineering department in plant meetings and industry/fleet activities.

Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university required, engineering preferred. 8 years of nuclear experience preferred. Must have significant experience with evaluating and solving engineering issues; professional engineering certification is preferred; management training or education preferred.
Must live within 60 minutes to ensure proper implementation of Emergency Response plan.
A condition of employment will be successfully obtaining and maintaining General Security Clearance and a Nuclear Security Clearance for unescorted access to Xcel Energy nuclear plants including successful completion of nuclear General Access Training (GAT) and the nuclear security screening process (typically consists of an alcohol/drug screen, a criminal history check, a psychological assessment, initial credit and background investigation and periodic credit & criminal history checks).
